Heritage Narrative

Few watches embody the romance of mid-century travel like the Rolex GMT-Master. Originally introduced in 1955 for Pan Am pilots crossing multiple time zones, the reference 1675 refined that pioneering design into one of Rolex’s most collectible classics.

This 1967 example features the highly sought-after gilt dial, distinguished by its glossy black finish and gold text printing — a combination that Rolex phased out shortly after, making surviving specimens rare and prized among collectors. The warm glow of the gilt typography paired with the faded patina of the luminous hour plots gives this piece undeniable vintage character.

Powered by the Rolex Calibre 1575, this GMT-Master allows tracking of two time zones simultaneously via its red 24-hour hand and bidirectional bezel. The watch retains its period-correct plexiglass crystal, stainless steel case, and Oyster bracelet, all in well-preserved condition that reflects both careful ownership and the robust construction of Rolex’s golden era.
