Heritage Narrative

The Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 occupies a special place in the evolution of the Moonwatch lineage. Produced between 1969 and the early 1970s, it was the first reference to feature the calibre 861, the movement that would power NASA-qualified Speedmasters for decades to come. While earlier references flew to the Moon, the 145.022-69 represents the transitional era that shaped the modern identity of the Speedmaster.

This 1970 example retains the unmistakable visual codes that made the Speedmaster a legend: a matte black stepped dial, tritium indices with warm vintage aging, and the iconic asymmetrical 42 mm case designed for professional use. The hesalite (plexiglass) crystal remains true to its spacefaring heritage, chosen for its shatter-resistant properties during NASA testing.

As a vintage model from one of the most collectible Speedmaster generations, the 145.022-69 offers authentic Moonwatch DNA with period-correct charm, making it a cornerstone reference for enthusiasts and collectors.
