IWC Yacht Club II – Reference 3012 (c. 1980s)
Heritage Narrative
The Yacht Club II marks IWC’s transition from traditional yachting chronometers to the integrated-bracelet sports watches that defined the late-1970s and 1980s. Designed under the influence of Gérald Genta, the model combines a slim stainless-steel case, screw-down crown and quartz accuracy—attributes that appealed to professional sailors who required robust construction with no sacrifice in elegance. Reference 3012 preserves the clean lines of the original Yacht Club while introducing a cushion profile, polished bezel and sapphire crystal, rendering it equally appropriate on deck or at a formal reception.
